THIS WEEK WEATHER LOOKS BETTER! Hope you decide to order this week.
EBT/SNAP MATCH IS NOW $50 (NOT $100). Our match funds are running low.
WHERE ARE THE VEGGIES? Dripping Springs Garden is not able to sell again this week. Also, this is a time when even hoop-house growing slows down for a few weeks. But we will let you know as soon as there’s produce available again.
EGGS? Sorry still no eggs this week.
DONE ROVIN is back!
GINA’s SALSA is back! Locally made.
FROZEN PEACHES STILL AVAILABLE: these are over-ripe peaches picked fresh and frozen in 1 pound packages. Great for pies, cobblers, jams and other baking. This is probably the last week they will be sold online.

Foothills Market: The Market is Open!
Wow, what a snow! I heard on one news station that we got three years’ worth of “average” snow overnight last week. Foothills Market is open, but our growers are still waiting for the snow to melt to be able to see what’s left underneath.
That means our produce offerings on the market are limited this week (although items may be added later in the week as we see what made it through the snow). However, we still have plenty of other locally-grown and homemade products – meats, baked goods, and jams/jellies. Shop between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. – we’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday.
Eat something fresh this week!

Growers News:
Calico Farm:
If you’re looking to spice up these chilly winter days, try our delicious salsas available in 3 different varieties, depending on how much heat you prefer – mild jalapeno, medium habanero & our hot Carolina reaper. Canned in 1 pint jars & ready for taco, nachos or simple chips & salsa.
For our gluten free friends, we’re offering our peppermint chocolate crinkle cookies – sold by the dozen, they freeze amazingly well & are organic & dairy-free too.
If you’re a lover of simple, pure flavors, try our brand-new triple vanilla bean scones. Made with our homemade vanilla extract, vanilla bean paste, our own vanilla sugar & iced with a vanilla oat milk/powdered sugar icing. As always, these are organic & dairy-free as well. Our scones are sold in 3-packs & lovingly boxed up for you. I came up with this recipe on our snow day!
Safe and Sound Soap Co.:
I started making my natural body care and laundry products for my family and friends, but now it’s available from our family to yours! Every one of my products are made from natural and non toxic ingredients. I also use high quality essential oils to scent all of my products.
Item of the Week: Car Air Fresheners!
These hanging diffusers are perfect to freshen up your car! These have a longer lasting scent than store bought air fresheners, and you can control the amount of scent you want by simply tipping the bottle and letting the oils soak into the cap. These are non-toxic, vegan, and phthalate and paraben free, so you can have all the amazing smells without the chemicals. They make great gifts for loved ones as well!
NashPhilly:
Soup season is here and we wanted to let you know that starting from this week until it begins to get very hot again, end of May. We will have all of our delicious soups available to purchase. Our current list of soups are as follows. First with our two most popular soups here on this market.
Minestrone soup, and Roasted Cauliflower and Garlic soup. These two happen to also be our vegetarian options and for the most part gluten free.
We offer both types of clam chowders, creamed based New England Clam Chowder, and tomato sauced based, Manhattan Clam Chowder. Our French Onion is absolutely sublime and comes with its own cheese and bread kit. Seasonal inspired Butternut Squash soup is warm and comforting with sweet notes of honey, and is chicory with notes of cinnamon, and allspice. Broccoli and Cheddar never disappoints especially if you have it with a delicious slice of artisan sour dough bread. Our Tomato and Basil Bisque is classic and perfectly smooth soup, with high notes of one of our favorite herbs. Loaded Potato Soup comes as a chunky and fulfilling soup. Garnish it with additional sour cream or scallions to take this dish to another level.
Finally, be on the look out for this new recipes this winter! Italian wedding soup, lemon and chicken soup, and corn chowder.
RC Farm:
Great selection of Soups, Apples along with Apple Fried Pies and Apple Butter, Pickles, Potatoes, Prepared frozen meals as well as Breads and Fresh and Frozen Produce. Also several meat choices and Duck Eggs when available.
Quarter Spring Farm:
We are hip deep in kidding and lambing season here at Quarter Spring Farm. It’s a super cute, but super busy time of year. Lucky for us we stocked up our freezers with delicious pasture raised chicken, grass fed lamb and goat in advance. We have plenty of everything for the moment, and would love for you and your family to enjoy it this winter. Speaking of winter, the cold air usually means dry, chapped skin for lots of folks. Our superb goat milk soaps, shampoos, and lotions can help relieve the rigors of the cold weather. They will leave your skin feeling soft and smelling great. Give them a try if you haven’t already. Your skin will appreciate it.
Arrington Bread Co:
Proud to serve fresh artisan sourdough loaves and sourdough bagels, made from scratch using our 88-year-old starter which we named “Josh Dough-ban”—like the great singer Josh Groban, we raise him uuuuuup!
Linwood Lamb:
We have Cheviot, Dorset, and Hampshire Raw Wool Fleeces available – We have been raising sheep for 5 generations on Linwood Farm in Watertown TN. We shear our sheep once per year in the spring using the Australian Long Blow Method. Fleeces will weigh 4 to 10 pounds depending on the breed. All of the fleeces were exhibited at the 2022 Tennessee State Fair Wool Show.
Let me know in comments what breed of sheep you would like the fleece to come from. Please don’t hesitate to call me or email me 615-519-7796 shepherdboy1@yahoo.com if you have any questions about our fleece.

Did you enjoy our Snow Day yesterday? Some of us in the South Metro only got a dusting of the white stuff, while others had significant accumulation. Our friends in Fayette County had great fun making snow angels and building snowmen. Here in Zebulon, the beauty of newly fallen snow was fleeting, as freezing rain soon took over. I’m just so thankful we didn’t get an ice storm and that we were able to stay home from work and school, warm and safe.
Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. May you all thaw out and have a good weekend, and we’ll see you at the Market.
Thanks,
Beverly
P.S. If you have questions about your order, please contact Nelda. She is available by text, email, or phone call.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This farmers market allows you to preorder directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. in Clayton, Clarkesville, or Gainesville.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, your order may NOT be complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes.
Thanks for supporting local farmers!
